About this Practice

Nasal cleansing using a waxed cotton thread passed through one nostril and out through the mouth. A deeper cleansing technique than Jala Neti, removing chronic mucus from the upper sinuses. Taught under supervision.

This kriya must only be performed under the direct supervision of a trained and experienced teacher. Contact us to arrange a supervised session before attempting.

How to Practise

  1. 1

    Must be learned from an experienced teacher.

  2. 2

    A pre-waxed rubber catheter or cotton sutra is used.

  3. 3

    The thread is inserted into one nostril and guided down to exit from the mouth.

  4. 4

    The thread is then gently drawn back and forth to clean the passage.

  5. 5

    Always performed after Jala Neti is well established (typically 2–3 months).

⚠️ Cautions & Contraindications

Do not attempt without trained supervision. Deviated septum. Nasal polyps.
