About this Practice
Bridge Pose — strengthens the back, opens the chest, and gently stimulates the thyroid. Useful as both an active strength-builder and a restorative posture (supported on a block).
How to Practise
- 1
Lie on back, knees bent, feet flat, hip-width.
- 2
Press feet and arms into floor; lift hips toward ceiling.
- 3
Clasp hands beneath body, shimmy shoulders together.
- 4
Hold 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- 5
Release, rolling down vertebra by vertebra.
