About this Practice

Wide-Legged Forward Fold — offers the benefits of an inversion without the demands of Sirsasana. Stretches the inner legs and spine, stimulates digestion, and calms the brain.

How to Practise

  1. 1

    Stand with feet wide apart (4–5 feet), toes forward.

  2. 2

    Hands on hips. Inhale to lengthen the spine.

  3. 3

    Exhale and fold forward from the hips.

  4. 4

    Place hands on the floor beneath the shoulders (or head).

  5. 5

    Hold 30 seconds to 1 minute.

⚠️ Cautions & Contraindications

Lower back injury (keep hands on the floor).
