About this Practice
Wind-Relieving Pose — a supine posture that compresses the ascending and descending colon, facilitating the release of trapped gas, stimulating peristalsis, and relieving constipation. The primary asana for the Naval Correction Programme.
How to Practise

Lie on the back.
- 2
Exhale, draw both knees to the chest.
- 3
Clasp the hands around the shins or the knees.
- 4
Press the knees firmly into the abdomen.
- 5
Lift the head — chin toward knees.
- 6
Hold 30–60 seconds. Breathe deeply. Release on an exhale.
