About this Practice
Fish Pose — the traditional counter-pose to Shoulderstand, opening the chest after the compression of the throat. Stimulates the thyroid and parathyroid and opens the lungs fully.
How to Practise
- 1
Lie on back, legs extended.
- 2
Tuck hands under the buttocks, palms down.
- 3
Press elbows and forearms into floor.
- 4
Lift the chest and arch the upper back, letting the head drop back.
- 5
Hold 30 seconds to 1 minute.
