About this Practice
Skull-shining breath — a dynamic pranayama using forceful exhales to cleanse the lungs and stimulate abdominal organs. One of the most effective practices for weight management, digestion, and mental clarity. The name means "that which makes the forehead shine."
How to Practise
- 1
Sit in a comfortable cross-legged posture with hands on knees.
- 2
Take a natural inhale. Then sharply contract the abdominal muscles to force the breath out through the nose.
- 3
The inhale is passive — the belly naturally expands between each contraction.
- 4
Begin with 30 pumps per round. Rest and observe. Build to 3 rounds of 60–120.
- 5
After the last round of a set, inhale fully and hold briefly before releasing.
- 6
Beginners: start slowly, just 30 pumps, and build over weeks.
