About this Practice
Head-to-Knee Pose — a one-sided forward bend that stretches one side of the body at a time, toning the liver and spleen and helping regulate blood sugar. Gentler than Paschimottanasana for those with tight hamstrings.
How to Practise
- 1
Sit in Dandasana. Bend the right knee, placing the right foot against the inner left thigh.
- 2
Inhale to lengthen. Exhale and fold over the left leg.
- 3
Hold the foot, ankle, or shin.
- 4
Keep the left knee pointing upward.
- 5
Hold 1–2 minutes per side.
