About this Practice
A series of exercises for the six extrinsic eye muscles. Reduces eye strain from screens, strengthens the muscles that control focus and tracking, and is prescribed in yoga therapy for improving eyesight.
How to Practise
- 1
Sit comfortably. Rub the palms together and cup them over closed eyes (palming).

Up-down: move the gaze up to the ceiling, then down to the floor. 10 times.
- 3
Left-right: move the gaze fully left, then fully right. 10 times.
- 4
Diagonal: top-right to bottom-left, then top-left to bottom-right. 5 times each.
- 5
Circular: trace a large circle with the gaze clockwise, then anticlockwise. 5 times each.

Close with palming again for 1 minute.
