About this Practice
Rising onto the toes and lowering. The calves act as a "second heart" — their pumping action drives venous blood back up from the legs. Prevents varicose veins, improves balance, and strengthens the lower leg.
How to Practise
- 1
Stand with feet hip-width apart, hands on a wall for balance if needed.
- 2
Rise onto the balls of the feet as high as possible.
- 3
Hold for 2 counts at the top.
- 4
Lower slowly and fully. Repeat 20–30 times.
- 5
For balance challenge: perform single-leg.
